Here's How Our Process & Services Work

Sacramento Home Inventory Services is a professional services firm that provides detailed digital photographic and textual documentation of individual's and business owner's property in a Personal Property Portfolio. Each Personal Property Portfolio is provided on CD ROM in the format most preferred by the insurance industry.

We are a "green" business, but a hard copy of your Personal Property Portfolio is also available by request at a small additional charge.

Sacramento Home Inventory Services is available for in-home or business inventory appointments Monday - Saturday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. A typical 1800 square foot home requires between 2-3 hours to complete the photographing and item documentation process.

This is a collaborative process. At least one Adult Property Owner must be present during our visit, and we will be working together to ensure that every item you wish to have individually documented is included in your Personal Property Portfolio.

It's a good idea to have your original purchase receipts already collected when we visit so the value of your property can be assigned accurately. If you don't have receipts, don't worry - you can assign a value to such items and we'll simply identify the values as estimates.

It's also a good idea to have your Insurance Policy available so we can review it to determine the adequacy of your current coverage.

Here's How The Process Works:

1.  We visit your home or place of business and take digital photos of the outside

    of the property to establish context and proof of ownership.

2. We then move inside and take digital pictures of rooms from different angles,

   again establishing context and placement of items within the property.

3. We then take digital pictures of all items of value, logging key details of each

   item including, but not limited to, description, serial number, original purchase

   price, and your assessment of current value.

4. We then return to our office and prepare your Property Portfolio using production

   equipment that is never connected to the internet, ensuring that your information

   remains secure and confidential.

5. When production is complete, we burn a CD ROM of your Property Portfolio and

   hand-deliver it to you.

6. We also will burn a backup CD ROM and archive it in a Bank Safe Deposit Box.

7. Once you have received your Personal Property Portfolio and your backup CD ROM

   has been archived safely we will delete your file from our production equipment upon

   your written request.

NOTE: If you choose not to utilize our secure archiving service, we  

          recommend that you do not store your Property Portfolio at your

          home or business. Instead, consider asking a trusted friend or relative

          to store your Property Portfolio for you, or obtain a Bank Safe Deposit

          Box of your own.
